Our Mission
Our mission is to represent and strengthen the diaspora, especially those of African origin, while ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, feels welcome. We believe that inclusion is a fundamental value, and that our community grows stronger when we embrace diversity. By creating a space where everyone can contribute and be themselves, regardless of origin or experience, we build a culture of respect, openness, and mutual understanding.
We also work to highlight and develop the cultural, social, and economic contributions that African and African-Swedish communities make to Sweden, while creating room for everyone to engage and feel included.

Project KulturKalas
Culture Festival is an inclusive project aimed at strengthening both cultural identity and social integration, based in Malmö. Through creativity, collaboration, and community engagement, a platform is created for long-term positive development for families with children—especially those facing challenges in Swedish society.
The project includes several engaging and meaningful components:
Recycling Crafts in collaboration with @mindfulnesshomemalmo – where children and adults create with heart and care for the environment.
Recycled Fashion in collaboration with the African Women and Youth Association – a creative project where old clothes are transformed into stunning prom dresses for high school students.
Dance & Music – Afro Step dance and the creation of instruments from recycled materials offer joy, movement, and rhythm.
Sustainable Cooking – we cook delicious and eco-friendly meals together and collect our recipes in a shared cookbook.
Community Information – through Afroswedes, participants are offered guidance to strengthen their knowledge and participation in society.
In February 2026, we will celebrate the highlight – the grand final event of the Culture Festival, where we honor everything we have created together!
Everything is free, and everyone is welcome to co-create – regardless of background, age, or experience. Together, we are shaping a more sustainable, creative, and inclusive Malmö.
