The Out of Africa Festival 2024 was a fantastic meeting place where Africa’s rich culture and diversity was celebrated with music, food and community. This year’s theme, “What does democracy mean to you? “, inspired many, and youth ambassador Alithy Djiemo’s wise words about democracy as freedom left a strong impression.
The festival’s significance was further highlighted when Alithy’s text was published on the UN website, linked to the global goals of reducing inequality. This reminds us of the importance of creating a world in which freedom and democracy are a matter of course for all.
