Out of Africa – More Than Just an Association
Founded in 2019
Out of Africa is more than just an association – we are a loving community that welcomes everyone!
Our hearts beat especially strongly for families with children, young souls, our experienced seniors, and those who carry unique gifts and experiences with disabilities. We strive to be a vibrant representation of our members, regardless of their background.
Whether you have roots in Africa or simply love the culture, whether you live in the heart of Malmö or its charming surrounding areas, you are warmly welcome.We also work to highlight and develop the cultural, social, and economic contributions that African and African-Swedish communities make to Sweden, while creating room for everyone to engage and feel included.

Our mission is to represent and strengthen the diaspora, especially those of African origin, while ensuring that everyone, regardless of their background, feels welcome. We believe that inclusion is a fundamental value, and that our community grows stronger when we embrace diversity. By creating a space where everyone can contribute and be themselves, regardless of origin or experience, we build a culture of respect, openness, and mutual understanding.

Our Task
Our task is to promote community within the diaspora and, in doing so, strengthen and support our members in their lives here in Sweden. We aim to one day establish a cultural center where people can turn for a sense of belonging, engage in a variety of activities, and gain knowledge that makes everyday life in Sweden easier.
Become a Member
When you become a member with us for only 150 SEK per year, you gain access to a range of benefits, including free participation in our activities, as well as support and advice for any challenges members may face in their daily lives.
Our association serves as a source of information, a place for discussion and collaboration on cultural issues.
As a member of Out of Africa, you also have the opportunity to participate in our courses, smaller events, picnics, BBQ nights, and bowling competitions, where you can make new connections, strengthen existing relationships, and support each other in various ways. You will also receive help navigating the Swedish system and language if needed.
As a member, you commit to paying an annual membership fee of 150 SEK. This fee supports the activities of the association, and members can conveniently pay via Swish or bank giro.
